Getting Started with Siteskyline Affiliate for WooCommerce

Welcome! This guide helps you set up your affiliate program from scratch. By the end, you'll have a working signup page, your first commission plan, and a clear view of how your partners are performing — all from your WordPress admin.

Make sure the following is in place before you install the plugin:

Run the Setup Wizard (recommended)

Configure settings manually (optional)

If you prefer to set things up yourself, open SkyPlugins → Affiliate → Settings and work through these cards:

• General & Registration — program type (affiliate, ambassador, influencer, or customer referral), automatic approval, terms acceptance, and reCAPTCHA keys.
• Tracking & Referrals — referral code prefix, cookie duration, attribution mode, pretty referral links, self-referral policy, and affiliate-created coupons.
• Payouts & Ledger Controls — refund lock period, minimum and maximum payout amounts, scheduled auto-payout day, and default ledger method.
• Lifetime Commissions, MLM & Emails — lifetime commission rules, multi-tier (MLM) rates for levels 2–5, email notification triggers, and email brand color.

1. Make sure your signup page is ready

If the wizard didn't create one for you:

2. Approve your first affiliates

When applicants sign up, they appear in the Affiliates tab:

1. You set up your program

When you first activate the plugin, a guided setup wizard walks you through the essentials. You choose a business model (like an e-commerce store, a subscription service, or an influencer program), set your commission rate, decide how long referral tracking lasts, and pick whether you want to approve affiliates manually or let everyone in automatically. You can fine-tune all of these later on the Settings page.

2. Applicants sign up as affiliates

New partners apply through a signup form on your website. They enter their details, optionally choose a custom referral code, and accept your terms. If you have approval enabled, their application waits for your review. If not, they're instantly approved and can start promoting right away.

3. You approve your partners

From the Affiliates page, you can see everyone who has applied. You can approve or reject applications, edit referral codes, organize partners with tags, and even import a list of existing partners from a file or another program.

4. Affiliates share their links

Once approved, each affiliate gets a personal referral link and a discount coupon they can share anywhere — social media, email, blog posts, or YouTube. You can also provide ready-made marketing campaigns with banner images and swipe copy, so your affiliates always know what to promote.

5. Customers visit and shop

When someone clicks an affiliate's link, the plugin notes that visit and remembers the affiliate for a set period of time (for example, 30 days). If that customer makes a purchase — even days later — the sale is credited to the affiliate.

6. Commissions are recorded

Every referred order generates a commission record. Depending on your settings, commissions start as "pending" until the order is stable and the refund window has passed. You can review each commission, approve it, reject it, or delete it from the Commissions page.

7. You pay your affiliates

When commissions are approved, your affiliates build up a payable balance. From the Payouts page, you can manually pay them using a variety of methods (like PayPal, bank transfer, store credit, or check), or schedule automatic payouts on a set day each month. The plugin keeps a complete payout history so you always know what you've paid and to whom.

8. You track and grow

The Reports page gives you real-time visibility into your program's health: referred revenue, commissions owed, top-performing affiliates, conversion rates, and more. You can export the data anytime, spot your best partners, and create new campaigns to keep momentum going.

Admin Overview Dashboard

Affiliate Management

Affiliate Tag Manager

Affiliate Import Tools

The Affiliate Import Tools let you bulk-import affiliates into your affiliate program. You can upload a CSV file containing email, name, and referral code, or migrate existing partners directly from AffiliateWP or Ultimate Affiliate Pro. Imported affiliates are automatically assigned the affiliate role, set as approved, and given a referral code.

Lifetime Commissions Manager

The Lifetime Commissions Manager lets you manually link a customer to an affiliate. Once linked, that affiliate earns commission on all future purchases made by that customer. You can also search existing links by email or remove a link at any time.

2. Go to the Affiliate section, open the Affiliates tab, and find the Lifetime Commissions card.
3. To check if a customer is already linked, search existing links by entering the customer’s email address.

5. Enter the customer’s email address. You can also enter the customer’s user ID if you have it.

Each campaign can include a banner image, swipe copy, and extra creative assets, and you can control whether it's public or restricted to specific affiliates. The feature also tracks visits and revenue for each campaign so you can see what's performing well.

Program Settings — General & Registration

• Enable Google reCAPTCHA on your signup form to reduce spam registrations, especially if the form is publicly visible.

Program Settings — Tracking & Referrals

You can set how referral codes are generated, how long a referral is remembered, and which affiliate gets credited when a customer clicks multiple links. It also handles link appearance, self-referrals, affiliate-created coupons, and your default referral banner image.

• Keep cookie duration aligned with your sales cycle. If your products take time to decide on, a longer cookie window gives affiliates credit for the work they put in.
• Use pretty links for better trust. Short, clean referral links look more professional and are easier for affiliates to share on social media or email.
• Decide if self-referrals make sense. Allowing self-referrals can boost internal sales, but make sure your commission structure accounts for it.
• Always click Save Settings after making changes — nothing is applied until you do.

Program Settings — Payouts & Ledger Controls

The Payouts & Ledger Controls section lets you decide when affiliates get paid and how those payouts are tracked. You can set a refund protection period, enforce balance minimums and caps, schedule automatic payouts, choose the default payment method recorded in the ledger, and exclude specific affiliates from auto-pay.

Program Settings — Lifetime Commissions, MLM & Emails

1. Open the Settings tab and find the "Lifetime Commissions, MLM & Emails" card.
2. Toggle Lifetime Commissions on or off as needed.
3. If enabled, select any affiliate tags that should be excluded from lifetime commissions.
4. Toggle Multi-Tier (MLM) to allow affiliates to recruit sub-affiliates and earn at multiple levels.
5. Set the Level 2–5 commission rates.
6. Configure email triggers: daily digest, new affiliate signup, affiliate approval, and commission earned.

You'll get alerts when new affiliates sign up, and your affiliates will be notified when they're approved and when they earn commissions. The system also sends you a daily digest and delivers monthly performance summaries to affiliates and your store owner.

Affiliate Signup Form

The Affiliate Signup Form lets visitors apply to become affiliates directly from your website. It collects their basic account details, handles optional referral codes and terms acceptance, protects against spam, and automatically signs them in once their application is approved. If a visitor is already logged in, they can simply apply using their current account.

1. Navigate to the page that contains the affiliate registration form on your website.
2. If you already have an account on the site, you can log in and then apply with that existing account. If not, proceed to the next step.
3. Enter your username, email address, and a password.
4. If the optional referral code field is shown, you may enter a custom code of your choice, or leave it blank to have one generated for you.
5. If a terms acceptance checkbox appears, tick the box to confirm you agree to the affiliate terms.
6. Complete the reCAPTCHA verification to confirm you are not a robot.

8. Depending on the approval setting, your account will either be activated immediately or held for review. If approved, you will be logged in automatically and redirected to your affiliate dashboard.

Referral Link Tracking & Attribution automatically records visits made through your referral links and keeps a cookie on the visitor's device for a set amount of time. When that visitor places an order, the system credits the right affiliate using methods like first or last touch, coupon usage, direct registration links, or email matching. It also prevents self-referrals when that option is turned off.

1. Copy your personal referral link from your affiliate dashboard. This link contains your unique referral code.
2. Share the link anywhere you like: social media, email, blog posts, or messaging apps.
3. When someone clicks your link, the system stores a referral cookie on their device.

5. Once the order is completed, a referral record is created and your commission is queued as pending.
6. You can track your referrals and commissions in your affiliate dashboard.
